During the recent PARA meeting in Baguio, DU3 clubs decided to take on the task of hosting this year's PARA Convention. The actual date in April or May, and the venue, will be announced as soon as plans are finalized.  DU2 clubs also volunteered and they will be the hosts for the 2013 Convention.

PARA Contest Calendar 2012

The 2012 VHF/UHF Roundup Contest takes place on 14th April. This contest provides a venue for testing propagation, promoting club activity and developing and enhancing fellowship and friendship among amateurs. Please note that there is a significant rule change this year in that the use of QTH locators is now mandatory for the contest exchange, in order that distances can be worked out quite accurately for award purposes.

The 2nd Philippine Ham Radio Kids Day will be held on 16th June. Its mission is to introduce young children to the Ham Radio Hobby, encourage older hams to become "Elmers" and to provide a venue for a ham radio family event.

The Philippine Environmental HF Contest is scheduled to take place on 18th August and is for amateurs in DU land to contact as many amateurs in the Philippines and all over the world during the contest period whilst promoting environmentally sound facilities in the enjoyment of the hobby.
