Online & Virtual Radios

If you do not have a radio and wish to listen to ham QSO's then this page will have something for you.

Here you will find links to various interesting online radios as well as virtual radios.

Some are simply chat programs disguised as radio transceivers, but quite fun nonetheless!

Many will ask for your callsign for registration purposes, some of them require you to have a valid RSL.

Want to hear what the 40m and 80m bands sound like in Europe? Try this Software Defined Radio which is now online. No registration or callsign required. This receive only system has only two bands available at the moment but the author says that more will be added soon. You actually hear signals in real time, or nearly so, and you can even decode RTTY and other digital signals heard here. When 20m is added it will be possible to hear your own signal from the Philippines as received in the Netherlands!

Global Tuners is a network of remotely controlled receivers for radio enthusiasts from all over the world.

It is free of charge to access the receivers in this network. But your account must be approved by an admin before you can start using the radios. There is a strict etiquette applied; first come first served. You MUST ask first before retuning any particular receiver if you log in and others are already present. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the system.

Start off by applying for a free account and their admins will review your application as soon as possible. Click on the logo above...

This program requires proof of license, 90 days free use initially followed by a subscription payment. Try before you buy - this is a chat program similar to Yahoo chat but with the ability to simply listen in to other QSO's.

HamSphere is a new idea in chat programs. It is very similar to QSONet except that HamSphere includes propagation effects such as bands being closed, QSB, QRM, and various interesting signals such as numbers stations. It also differs in that there is no payment required at the moment.
